Cognite engineering has closed this incident after monitoring the Azure performance for additional problems. Our services have been meeting our quality and availability objectives since the last update.

The Azure incident causing this outage for Cognite Functions has been remediated, and Cognite Engineering has noticed that the error rate for the Functions API has dropped significantly. Customers should no longer experience any disturbance in the service. Cognite Engineering will continue to monitor the situation.

The Azure Service Health status contains the following update on the incident they currently are mitigating and which is causing this incident in CDF Functions.
Impact Statement: Starting at 01:19 UTC on 14 Dec 2022, you have been identified as a customer using App Service in West Europe who may receive intermittent HTTP 500-level response codes, experience timeouts or high latency when accessing App Service (Web, Mobile, and API Apps), App Service (Linux), or Function deployments hosted in this region.
Current Status: We suspect a backend service experienced failures due to a disabled component. We have enabled the disabled component as a part of our mitigation strategy. We are monitoring its progress. The next update will be provided within 2 hours, or as events warrant.

Cognite engineering is working on addressing elevated response times for the Functions in the EUR-W3 cluster after a service incident in Azure starting at 1:00 am UTC on December 14. Customers are experiencing timeout messages in the UI, and API if they are impacted by this problem.
